Innovation Investment in CSC research laboratories for Technology Transfer
Innovation Investment example of CSC – Project CHIRALRES
How to separate under mild conditions chiral compounds without column
This project is managed by Thomas Hermans, director of the Laboratoire des Systèmes complexes hors équilibre at the Institut de Science et d’Ingénierie Supramoléculaire (ISIS – Unistra CNRS). ChiralRes is about an adapting process aiming to separate nanometer-sized particles, i.e. both on proteins and anti-bodies. This process already offers the possibility to separate enantiomers without using several chiral stationary phases, which are very costly for pharmaceutical industries. This mild technic would also function to separate mixes of proteins and/or antibodies without risk of degradation.
The investment granted by Conectus Alsace allows the research team to:
- Determine the potential of this separation technique
— Which minimal particle size would be possible to separate
— What types of material would fit the best to this technique - Develop a prototype compatible with the wished separation
